The Outreach Committee distributes funds appropriated by Vestry and funds generously donated by members of the Church of the Redeemer according to the values articulated by Jesus in Matthew 25:35, 36, and 40. Approximately 75 percent is given to local recipients and the remaining 25 percent given to organizations with a national or international scope. Outreach offerings are held the first Sunday each month with the recipients being announced in advance. The committee also organizes the Salvation Army food boxes and mitten tree at Christmas, and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. A new pursuit is sponsoring an apartment for low-income families for Hillcrest Ministries.
